Brooke and Grant’s Mt Flora Wedding

Isn’t this the most amazing view for a wedding? I went up to the Mt Flora Regional Musuem before Brooke and Grant’s wedding to scout around and I couldn’t believe my luck.

Brooke and Grant met in highschool and after some time apart while Brooke was travelling the world, they finally decided to get hitched. They had a beautiful (albeit windy) ceremony officiated by Brooke’s aunt Janet, then photos at the lovely Waterman’s Bay as the sun went down and then on to a fantastic party set up in their parents backyard!

Grant and Brooke, it was beautiful to see how much love and respect you have for each other. Thank you for letting me be a part of your day and I wish you both a long a happy life together.

Ratri’s Boudoir Session

Isn’t Ratri the most gorgeous girl? She booked an early April boudoir photography session and was lucky enough to win my $100 Nite Magic lingerie voucher. I had a blast on this shoot – first makeup and hair with Brooke (who was fantastic) and then finding the best spaces to shoot in throughout Ratri’s amazing Ocean Marina apartment. I just picked up the HUGE canvas that Ratri had printed and it’s amazing.

Sneak Peek for Brooke and Grant

Just a few of the gorgeous photographs I took at Brooke and Grant’s wedding. We had an amazing time on top of the Mt Flora Regional Museum for the ceremony, to Waterman’s Bay for portraits and then off to the amazing backyard reception. I can’t wait to share more!

Serpentine Falls

Does everyone like the new blog and logo? I’m really excited to have a new look – I’m taking my business in a new, modern direction and I thought a sleek look was in order!

In my spare time (when I get some) I like to go hiking. Mandurah is so close to so many beautiful hiking trails and I really enjoy wandering around in the bush, with camera or without, looking at all the wildlife we have the south west. Last Thursday I gave myself a morning off to go hiking up the hills at Serpentine Falls. I took my D300s and the 50mm f1.4, some water and my phone and set off. The first photo is the hill I ended up climbing. I got to the middle of the granite face you can see before chickening out and climbing back down. It’s scary climbing huge rocks with no path and a few thousand dollars worth of equipment in your bag!

Then I walked along to see the falls themselves and ran into a few cheeky kangaroos. I’ve been experimenting with the photomerge function of photoshop to create panoramas lately. These were all taken with the 50mm lens on a crop sensor and stitched together later on. Oh and I didn’t even have to use a tripod! These tiny versions don’t really do the images justice – I’m thinking about getting one these printed as a large canvas to hang in the living room just so I can see what it looks like BIG.

Renee and Tyson are married!

Renee and Tyson got married at Yindana Park in Lakelands. After Renee got into her dress we ducked down to Sutton Farm with all the girls to get some quick portraits. Then to Lakelands for the beautiful ceremony by Anne Leaver, made even more special by the couples’ adorable kids running around giving everyone cuddles! We did bridal photography at Stingray Point in Mandurah before heading to the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre and then the reception at the Mandurah Rugby Club. I was thrilled to see the men get up and do the Haka at the reception – it’s so lovely when a couple show their cultural heritage at their wedding.
Renee and Tyson, I loved being part of your amazing day and I wish you all the best for the future.
