Does everyone like the new blog and logo? I’m really excited to have a new look – I’m taking my business in a new, modern direction and I thought a sleek look was in order!
In my spare time (when I get some) I like to go hiking. Mandurah is so close to so many beautiful hiking trails and I really enjoy wandering around in the bush, with camera or without, looking at all the wildlife we have the south west. Last Thursday I gave myself a morning off to go hiking up the hills at Serpentine Falls. I took my D300s and the 50mm f1.4, some water and my phone and set off. The first photo is the hill I ended up climbing. I got to the middle of the granite face you can see before chickening out and climbing back down. It’s scary climbing huge rocks with no path and a few thousand dollars worth of equipment in your bag!
Then I walked along to see the falls themselves and ran into a few cheeky kangaroos. I’ve been experimenting with the photomerge function of photoshop to create panoramas lately. These were all taken with the 50mm lens on a crop sensor and stitched together later on. Oh and I didn’t even have to use a tripod! These tiny versions don’t really do the images justice – I’m thinking about getting one these printed as a large canvas to hang in the living room just so I can see what it looks like BIG.
