Shannon Kate is a qualified anthropologist and sociologist, with a Master’s degree in professional writing and publishing and a Graduate Diploma of Australian Indigenous Studies. She has several certifications in Archive Management. She has worked with Indigenous Australians for the majority of her career, including creating multimedia projects, managing Indigenous Cultural Archives and doing family history research and family trees.

Shannon loves data and deep dive research that sees her in library collections way after sundown. Reading and writing are her two main passions, with science communication and the recontextualising of information for alternate audiences being her favourite areas to work in.

At home, you can find Shannon pottering in her garden with her dog, or playing with her many rescue cats.
